Fr. Rohr writes:
“Forgiveness is most profoundly experienced when people can own their darkness and concretely allow another human being to offer freedom and healing to them. Heavenly transactions need to become tangible human experiences. Thats what sacraments are.
Do you really know how to receive forgiveness? If you can’t receive it from another specific human being, I sincerely doubt you really know how to receive it from God.
Unmediated grace is fantasy. Grace is always mediated through human persons and events. What a risk God takes! And God asks that we risk in turn. By seeing Christ in one another we find the mediation points that make the gospel credible, immediate, and historical.”
Let’s really think on this one. It’s so important I feel!
